Cardinal Labs

Cardinal Labs is SSE’s newest venture, launched in Summer 2019. As a student-run tech solutions company, Cardinal Labs is dynamic, flexible, and draws from the strength of Stanford’s computer science culture. Cardinal Labs’ student developer teams work with on-campus groups, departments, and early-stage startups to build custom websites. At its core, Cardinal Labs emphasizes clean and intuitive design that is tailored to the specific needs of their clients. We aim to create not only fantastic products, but also a collaborative and fun development process with our clients.

FAQ

How can students get involved?

Because Cardinal Labs is a student-run business, we have a range of part-time job positions available to students that become available each quarter. For students looking to work in management, the Project Manager position allows you to oversee a project from start to finish, coordinating a Developer Team and interfacing with our clients. For those interested in more hands-on work, the Full-Stack Developer and UX Designer positions allow students to enter directly in Developer Teams, working on either development or design, respectively. Lastly, students who would like to be involved but cannot fully commit to a part-time schedule can work as Cardinal Labs Associates and invest their skills on a project-by-project basis.

What kind of projects does Cardinal Labs work on?

We choose our projects based off of our interest and compatibility with both the project and client, as well as the duration, platform, and cost of the project. As a group of enthusiastic students, we are particularly excited about working with like-minded people on energetic, innovative products.

What does the process of a standard project look like?

Our process includes constant communication between our Product Managers, Developer Teams, and clients. We tailor each project’s timeline to best suit the desired product, including either one or more of the following phases: research, design, and development.
